Volunteering Opportunities
Nothing is more rewarding than volunteering to make your own neighborhood a better and more beautiful place. There are many opportunities to lend a hand. Here are just some of the great ways volunteers like you can help.
Cleanups
In part with the Roxborough Manayunk Conservancy and Ivy Ridge Green, volunteers remove trash and debris in Germany Hill & other areas throughout the year. We welcome anyone to stop by and help. Whether it’s every week, or just once in a while, your help is greatly appreciated. Click here to see this year’s schedule.
Tree Tenders
Tree Tender works in collaboration with the PA Horticultural Society to plant native trees throughout the neighborhood. If you would like your own street tree, download an application or learn more information here.
Historic Preservation
RPCA’s own Preservation Committee is a group of neighbors who are working to protect and preserve the unique historic features and defining qualities of our neighborhood. Our mission is to investigate and research homes and buildings of historic significance to ensure that they are protected. We work in partnership with Councilman Jones, the Philadelphia Historic Commission, the Roxborough, Manayunk, Wissahickon Historical Society, and neighboring civic groups. We support ways of maintaining the affordable and unique housing options in this area, and we collectively plan and implement strategies that promote our goal of having our neighborhood continue to serve as a family-centered, diverse and friendly community. Please contact us if you are interested in joining.
